International conference for typhoid vaccine assessment guidelines.

A joint conference with WHO/KFDA at Jeju Shineville Hotel will be held from 5th to 7th September in 2012. The objective of the conference is to prepare assessment guideline for Typhoid Vi Capsular Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine, and to discuss about the factors that need to be considered in development/production stage, quality assessment and safety/effectiveness, and further reflect them in the international guideline. The International Guideline contains recommendations for quality assessment and clinical trials for the vaccines and is used as reference over the world.
In this conference, 13 international regulatory agencies and international vaccine research institutes including the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Japan National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) will come together to discuss about the regulatory status of Typhoid Vi Capsular Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine in each country. GSK, Novartis will participate as guest speakers and Dr Myron M Levine who is known as the world's foremost authority on vaccine area will give an advisory speech.
