□ On April 6, 2021, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS, Minister Kim Ganglip) will hold the “Consultation Meeting for Supporting COVID-19 Vaccine Quality Management” with vaccine developers who are currently conducting or preparing for clinical trials on COVID-19 vaccines.
○ The consultation will cover a range of items such as the development of vaccine platform-specific tests; technical support for quality control; and expedited national lot release.

□ The MFDS intends to better understand difficulties in quality management faced by vaccine developers through the meeting. Based on the results of the meeting, the ministry will develop and implement diversified measures to help developers minimize trials and errors and accelerate vaccine development.

□ The MFDS hopes that the consultation meeting will be an opportunity to provide practical support to developers. Moreover, the ministry will continue to support vaccine development to become self-sufficient in COVID-19 vaccine production.
