[PRESS RELEASE] MFDS Conducts Hygiene Inspections to Prevent Food Poisoning at Childcare Centers

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Minister OH Yu-Kyoung) announced that it will conduct hygiene inspections jointly with local governments at approximately 4,300 childcare centers nationwide from October 12 to 30 to prevent food poisoning, including norovirus infections*, and ensure the safety of meals served at childcare centers.
* Norovirus is an enteric virus that can cause food poisoning when contaminated food or water is consumed. It can survive at temperatures as low as -20°C and frequently causes outbreaks during winter.
