□ The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS, Minister Kim Ganglip) made an administrative pre-announcement on May 10 on the revision of the “Regulations on Inspection of Imported Foods, etc.”, which includes adjustments to the number of imported food items subject to the initial in-depth inspection of pesticide residues.

○ The revision was made in an effort to reasonably improve safety control at the import stage by taking measures such as strengthening inspection of imported foods with potential hazards while easing regulation on imported foods that have been recognized as safe.
