New Zealand Food Safety is proposing changes to the:

Animal Products Notice: Regulated Control Scheme – Bivalve Molluscan Shellfish for Human Consumption

What's being proposed?

We have reviewed the notice to:

- remove pectenotoxin as a regulated toxin, following a thorough assessment of its food safety risk

- reinstate the previous laboratory methods approval clause that was omitted in the last amendment

- re-order clauses and wording changes for ease of use.

The consultation opens on 13 January and closes on 17 February 2021.
