The Proficiency Testing Program of MFDS

Overview of the Proficiency Testing Program of MFDS
The Proficiency Testing Program of MFDS developed by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2011 is designed to sustain and improve laboratory performance of MFDS-accredited Foreign Testing Laboratories (FTLs). The MFDS holds the Proficiency Testing Program every year to assess the reliability of testing results carried out by FTLs. The Proficiency Testing Program is operated in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043 (general requirements for proficiency testing) and the International Harmonized Protocol for the Proficiency Testing of Analytical Chemistry Laboratories. All the steps in the proficiency testing process are handled in a fair and transparent manner with confidentiality. Test results are kept strictly confidential and are only used in a way to help improve testing capabilities. There are no costs for participating in the programs. The test materials are prepared by KRISS (Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science) and/or KTR (Korea Testing & Research Institute) in accordance with the requirements specified in ISO guide 34. We greatly appreciate Foreign Testing Laboratories participation and effort put into the Proficiency Testing Program. Any laboratory interested in the Proficiency Testing Program needs to download, complete and submit the registration form via email at kfdalabaudit@korea.kr or by fax to +82-719-1800 in accordance with the timetable of each years Proficiency Testing Program posted on this page.
